Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.

Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in LA recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, according to media reports.

"He saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a message.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

An Extensive Television Career

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, including:

  • The King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.

"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted on social media.

The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
