Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes live text of the weekend matchups on various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , after recent talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking in those games was the number of penalties both committed. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 going into the fourth period versus Denver, set to play overseas this weekend.

But it proved positive to observe how Denver quarterback the rookie was able to overcome that deficit before direct three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory 21-17.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that battle.

They executed the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily sending extra pass rushers instead they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program that the Broncos might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They ended last season well and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has excelled big and new running back their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He's currently fifth league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love that head coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver are a squad that wants to run first, because one can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes and maintains in favourable down and distances.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to throw all over, however they lack the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is highly agile.

His strengths are his movement, being able to throw on the run, and using different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to deliver that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of composure in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He aims to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

If you constantly run the ball it eats up the clock and makes the defence to be in play extended periods, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defense must cover the field vertically side to side. This proves draining.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach during games sometimes and it seems the coach likes that attitude, that he's such a competitor. I think it's exciting for him to have a young quarterback that is kind of like play-dough. The coach can really develop him the way he desires to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and now passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the success the Broncos are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix helps make him what he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to face a top squad at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to hold their division. All they need to do to continue this path.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, that is the ground game, and that's precisely what they should do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they're the sole squad without a win a game.

Since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, this team are the first team to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

After this Sunday's game, Denver face a manageable slate up to their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.

It depends on which form Kansas City shows up they meet because Denver {beat|def
