The City of Angels experienced widespread festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-game World Series championship. Fans across the globe joined local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in 25 years that a team has achieved consecutive championships.

Victory Parade Attracts Massive Turnout

Local celebrations featured a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.

Social media videos depict thousands of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the masses, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.

“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” the star player stated through an interpreter.

The procession path concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the players walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard providing music and the artist cruising a light blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Pre-Parade Festivities and Athlete Responses

Celebrations started well before the procession, with supporters lighting fireworks in the streets of the city center on Sunday night.

The World Series MVP, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented directly about the win.

“We refuse to lose,” he said. “I love the Dodgers. I love Los Angeles.”

Mixed Reactions and Community Spirit

In contrast, the team owner was met with a cooler welcome at the rally. Video footage from the gathering appear to show him taking the stage to a mix of cheers and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his speech.

The World Series acted as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for the city. An approximate quarter-million people attended to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, supporters this year demonstrated as much if not more enthusiasm.

“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” Freeman said. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
