Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a walkout by educators soon after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned at school, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for students.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I mean this. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
