Recent Refinery Assault Reveals 'No Protected Areas in the Russian Far Hinterland'

Ukraine's drones have targeted Russia's oil facility in the city of Ufa, located around 1,400 kilometres from the Ukrainian border, causing blasts and a fire, per a source in the Ukrainian intelligence agency.

This represents the latest intelligence deep strike in the region in the past month. These attacks show that there are no secure zones in the far hinterland of the Russia.

Two civilians died within a church in Kostyantynivka when it was struck, per municipal sources.

In Russia's border region of Belgorod, a truck driver was fatally wounded by a Ukrainian strike, as stated by municipal sources.

Energy Repair Work in Kyiv

Operations carried on on Saturday to recover electricity in Kyiv, after strikes by Moscow.

Electricity had been recovered to more than 800,000 inhabitants by Saturday and the biggest power firm stated the key work to repair the grid was complete though certain disruptions persisted.

Anti-Aircraft Operations and UAV Downings

The Ukrainian air defences intercepted or jammed 54 out of 78 total UAVs from Russia deployed targeting the country overnight, the air force reported on Saturday.

The Russian defense officials claimed it shot down forty-two drones over the country's airspace.

Cuba Denies Allegations of Providing Soldiers to Ukraine

The Cuban government on the weekend denied US assertions it has deployed military personnel to participate in the conflict in Ukraine, while affirming the government "do not have accurate information about individuals" engaged "independently" or "in the military forces of the conflicting parties".

The foreign ministry in Havana stated 26 nationals had been convicted to jail sentences from 5 to 14 years for mercenary activity since the autumn of 2023 when reports circulated of individuals being deployed to the front in Ukraine.
