Trump Invites Relatives of Injured National Guard Members to White House

President Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the family of a Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the White House.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Shooting

US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a attack on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Gatherings across West Virginia have taken place in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief stated he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the parents of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump told reporters. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Support

Attendees assembled over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s government program to assist law enforcement in DC.

Honoring the Soldier

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers hoped for. She behaved with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the leader of her former high school, told the press. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Funeral plans for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Judicial Steps and Government Adjustments

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and charges of attempted murder while armed.

The incident prompted the government to halt asylum processing and cease providing entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.

Status of Wolfe

The airman, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey stated on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on the program that she planned to visit Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with distinction, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey informed the audience at the memorial. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
