Vince Zampella, Has Died in a California Vehicle Accident

Vince Zampella, who helped create the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California aged 55.

The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.

The celebrated game designer lost his life when his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a highway in LA on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, his family, and all those touched by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
